Back in the game!

Guess who is attempting a comeback into the game? Technically my sister was the one who wanted me to download it again. On the other hand, I have been inspired by an MMORPG-themed anime called Log Horizon that made me itch to get back to Maple.

Lets see what adventures there are this time! I hear there are welcome back packages once again to lure veterans back into the game!

[MSEA] Justice Coin Collector

Not that I'm really an expert at this, I'm just here to show the various ways to collect Justice Coins! These blue lovely coins as seen below, tada~

1st and the most important step: Set a target!
What do you want most from the Justice shop? If you don't really want anything, then you could go for meso! Which item do you think you can sell most for it you get it?

For me, I really want the Bug-eyed frog hat because its cute and it looks like Fran's hat! The anime/ manga's Katekyo Hitman Reborn if you want to know!

Source: http://danbooru.donmai.us/post/show/1029977/1boy-animal_hat-fran_-reborn-frog_hat-green_eyes-g
Setting a target is good, it motivates you to log in everyday to claim your daily Justice coin. I labelled it as important, at least to me, because I'm a lazybum who has a tendency to forgo certain steps to get the coins. Knowing what I want for each character from the Justice shop forces me to make sure I get the coins everday!

Having established that, we shall move on to the easiest task: Justice Festival everyday!
Now I'm slightly ashamed that my laziness is at the level where I procrastinate to just log in and collect the free daily Justice Coin!

So at the side of your screen, just click on the little Justice badge looking thing, and then Justice Festival everyday! There you go, from 31/10 to 16/01. Plenty of coins if you collect everyday! 78 coins to be exact!

There you go, even if you started slightly late, or log in on alternate days, you'll still have plenty of coins!

Well, Justice Festival everyday is kind of a basic level. So next is Justice Level-up Challenge!
Like its name says, you'll have to level up a bit, then you'll get a coin.

For my characters that were previously 35 and 50, I'll have to level 5 levels before I can get a coin.
For my lvl 100 Windbreaker, need to up 4 levels.
For my lvl 139 Shadower, 2 levels only!
Thus I assume that the higher your level, the lesser you have to level up to get that one coin.

It does seem tedious though, doesn't it? Level up 5 levels just to get 1 measely coin! But one thing that's great out of this is that the challenge repeats itself each time you reach it. For example, my lv 35 Demon Slayer reached lv 40 and completed the challenge. So the next challenge is to reach lv 45 before I can get 1 more coin. As long as you keep leveling up before 16/01, you'll accumulate quite an amount of coins and levels!

Characters which started at a lower level can also easily get more coins because its relatively easier to level them up! So strategise what characters you want to play and focus on.

Lastly, completing 3 party quests in a day. I'm not a party-quest-kind-of-person, so I'm sorry I won't be blogging much about this!

I have a feeling some of the items have time limits though! When I get them, I'll update this post again! Till then, see you!

___

Update: Now that Phantom class is out, there's one more simple step to get 3 Justice coins! Simply click on the light bulb at the left side of the screen/ find Cassandra and the quest titled: Mysterious Letter of Warning. Apparently, Phantom is gonna "steal your heart", or so it says. You'll get a scented secret envelop in your inventory. Double-click on it and you'll have your 3 Justice coins,  a Master Thief Letter (?) and a card especially for Phantom that has to be revealed with a magnifying glass.

Pretty cool!

On a side note, I have decided to run for the spot of Zen Ambassador, so I'm (kinda) desperately leveling up now. Have been away from my comp these few days so lets see how the leveling goes! ;)

[MSEA] Part time jobs and Character cards

So as you know, I haven't logged in Maplestory for quite a while, and when I did I got a nice surprise!

The new character log in page! I think its really cool and neat, everything into that one page.

There was the Part time job and the Character cards at the side, and I was clueless as to what's going on! So I went to google and came across an informative, funny video on that (from GMS I guess). Here goes!

And no, you can't play that character and have the part time job at the same time! You could try, this'll pop up!
Have fun playing with your Character cards and selecting characters for Part time jobs!

[MSEA] Mercedes! & Demon Slayer

Its been a while since Mercedes is out, and Demon Slayer was just out on 4th July.

Just to share, I named my Mercedes and Demon Slayer after Gintama characters! Gintama is a manga/anime that I really love because its totally random, funny and unpredictable. There's serious arcs with epic fights, parody and spoofs of other animes, ridiculous episodes with crude jokes, even 4 whole chapters taking place in a toilet with no toilet paper.

The character building is just so great that each of the characters, even side ones that appear in a episode has their own unique personality and quirks. Thus I was looking for characters that would totally be like these Maplestory classes.
__
Well, I drafted the above so long ago that Phantom's almost out in MapleSEA! And here I continue!

So I did! First up, my Mercedes character, after Kijima Matako of the Kiheitai.
Source: http://kamyuu.tumblr.com/post/8931711225
So.. similarities include blond hair, dual revolver handguns as weapons.. and basically that's it. Well, they're both cool to me!

Next, my Demon Slayer character, after Gedomaru!
Source: http://gintama.wikia.com/wiki/Gedoumaru
Frankly I had a hard time with Demon Slayer, and I shortlisted quite a few other characters but none were really like ds. In the end, I decided on Gedomaru. Both have dark red eyes and use blunt weapons! Unfortunately, ds doesn't have horns like her! In the game play, ds doesn't feel like her with the orbs flying around and stuff but hey, I'm ok!

On a side note, major exam is coming up! Shall catch up on MSEA after that, there's so many cool stuff like Phantom, Zen (which reminds me of Kagura except the weapons part), and Luminous!

I'm sorry for the Gintama filled post! Oh wait, I'm not. ;P

You'll get just enough exp to reach your next level. Sweet.

[MSEA] Chaos patch: Ice Knight Brr

The Ice Knight patch took an entire day, so there's reimbursement - 2X Exp & 2X Drop rate on 24th and 25th November, 2000 to 2200.

So Ice Knight mode is pretty fun, but it gets chaotic and messy at times and the Ice Knight blends in with the mess and the background. So look out for the blue label "Ice Knight" below the Ice Knight to figure its placing. Every other challenger in the map with you has a red label "Challenger".

So down the Ice Knight in 7 minutes and the Challengers win! I haven't seen an Ice Knight winning yet, and I haven't been an Ice Knight yet. So I shall wait!

I like events! So here's the Ice Knight Curse.
At 2pm, Cursed Knight will appear at Henesys! He'll mumble to you something about his fate and power and then curse you, after which you are led to Rosette in the Battle Square for more information.

Weirdly enough, she tells you to try an Ice Knight match and have fun. All you have to do is be the Ice Knight in the Ice Knight mode. Sounds easy but not really. Many just went in and once the game starts and they weren't the Ice knight, they left and repeated the cycle. I only got to become the Ice Knight at literally the last minute, 1459. Whew.

Pretty worth it to get. Website states that this event lasts till 31st December so have fun getting it!
Sadly, the rest of the events debut on 1st December, or need cash. Well, at least my Wind Breaker is coming along nicely. Chaos Warrior Challenge completed!

[MSEA] Extractors and what-nots

Exactly! What's cool about Alchemy is that Alchemists can extract their own Item Crystals and build extractors!

For Alchemists to extract crystals from equipments, its the tiny little blue square button on the extreme left of the inventory. For now, I can only extract level 50 and below items. You'll need 10 Basic Item Crystals and 2 Marjoram Seed and Flower Oil each. And tada, you'll get your extractor, in your Set-up slot.

The extractor lasts for only one day, so use it wisely! Double click it in your Set-up slot and you'll get a pop-up asking you how much you want to charge people for using your extractor.

You'll get your profit as people use your extractor. So there, happy extracting!

[MSEA] Technological Age: Herbalism and Alchemy

There you go, Saffron, Master of Herbalism.

For herbalism, you'll be given a shovel for you to dig up plants with! And your first task is to gather Clary Sage from Saffron's Herb field, which is to the right of the map.

So once you have Clary Sage, Saffron will teach you how to extract oil from the herb! So you gotta go back in to get another Clary Sage and get a Basic Herb Oil Bottle from Nack, the happy NPC ready to serve your profession needs!

Its like a witch stirring the contents of her cauldron hoho. Well, complete the quest and you get a Saffron's Herb Bag 1, a useful tool for you to store herbs that you dug up. By the way, Grant will give you a ticket to go to farm herbs from Saffron's field. Same goes for miners out there, but note that you can only go in once!

And rewards for reaching Level 7 Herbalism by 30th! (I just barely made it)

The Master's Herb Bag 1 can store up to 4 items and the golden shovel looks pretty cool. Whee.
And next, presenting to you.. Ally and her big book of Alchemy!

So just go on and make some stuffs! (The Profession key in your key config)

I must say I think the potions and things you can make with Alchemy is really cool! And there's still the extractor thing and fusing thing which I am currently still too noob at it to make sense of it.

So there, go on and explore it! But I must warn you, Alchemy is super expensive, because when you craft potions, you'll need 25 or 50 Basic Empty Bottle each time, and when you accumilate them, they cost a bomb!

So my Alchemy level has reached 5 and as promised, here's the prize.
